The events in Corsica

Lucciana

On the Corsican Island, the feast of Saint Devote is also important. On January 27th, a religious service is held in Saint Michael of Lucciana church. The service is followed by a procession through Lucciana village.

In Pietranera, a little town situated in the north east of Cap Corse (where the boat ran aground after deriving from the Mediterranean Sea), a service (held in the church of Saint Devote) and a procession also occur on January 27th.

Please note that every year on Whit Monday, the Corsican pay tribute to Saint Devote by holding a religious service in the cathedral of the Canonica , followed by a procession in which different brotherhoods take part.
