Nepiticcia : a little grotto where Devote went to hide and pray

Pursued and chased by the Romans (who wanted to annihilate Christianity in Corsica) Devote, who never denied her faith, regularly went up to the Mount Nepiticcia to take refuge and pray.

As a mark of their gratitude, the local inhabitants built a little recess in marble (inside the grotto) where they put a statue of Saint Devote. The grotto of Nepiticcia has become an essential place of pilgrimage. Some Monegasque penitents do not hesitate to go and meditate at the grotto of Nepiticcia.
